Record an album in 28 days
I just signed up for the rpm challenge. The Goal- to make an album in the month of February, from start to finish.
Two things you should know-
- I have hard time keeping goals with a definite time stamp.
- I haven’t ever written an entire song.
But why let that keep me from it? For years of being on the technical side of the recording process I think I can pull this off. I have had this fear that when I do go into the studio I’d become this crazy mess of ungraspable ideas. And that it’d take years to attain what I set out to capture. So this project will help me out with the timeline. And about writing an entire song…
I know Greg Grant is also going to sign up, so we will have a bunch of new songs, behind the scenes videos and blog posts about the process.
So here is to the success of completing !!

New website, new blog!
Hello everyone out there connected to the inter-web!
Linda here from Altered State Records. It is sixteen days after the New Year and I’m finally getting into the swing of things. The Altered State Records / ASR Music website has been completely overhauled, entirely hand-coded to the latest web standard of HTML 5. And while I was doing my digital upkeep – I’ve decided to start all over on the Altered State Records blog, by completely deleting my WordPress db tables and updated to the latest version of the greatest blogging software ever! (NOTE: I was looking for the easiest way to start all over in WordPress without having to delete all my files, themes and plugins. So I decided to just see what would happen if I erased my database tables that were associated with wp and to my luck everything went well.)
So if you are are here looking for a post prior to January 2012, I am sorry to say that it is no longer located here. It is possible that it is somewhere out there on the “Internet”, but…….
Hopefully we will keep this blog going all year. I want to get Greg Grant to input here on his music and what he is working on. There should be some really interesting posts about d.i.y. music licensing, music publishing, self-promotion, booking and anything to do with being a full-time musician.
So to keep in-touch sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of any page of our website or check out our NEW Facebook or Twitter pages.
